Today’s word battle is between my inner-artist voice and my servant voice. One feels we should keep throwing words together and discover something original, while the other says we should stop to consider the reader.
Creating is fun, but creating with meaning is fulfilling.
I filled my notebook with six pages of words, but the bickering between these two voices shut out any hope of typing them out.
My gut says they can both find their space on the page, but it’s Friday, I’m tired, and my mind says, “just not today.”
This post is a part of a 100 Day Writing Challenge series for bad new writers. You can follow along on Instagram @onemomswords to see if I ever find my writing voice in this deep pile of messy words.
This is a new blog: no purpose yet, no images yet, no clear sense yet; just words, lots of tangled words.
